Books to Read: Soviet Union Economics
If you can find an Alec Nove book on the Soviet economy, I strongly urge you to read it. Nove describes the Soviet economic system in simplistic detail. Things to note are the large private markets (agriculture) that still existed in the Soviet Union because the government could not manage them. After reading one of his books, I could see the economic perils we are heading towards under the current administration.
