The concept of equal opportunity has morphed into equal outcome over the past few decades. It can best be described as going from an effort to make sure that everyone starts from the starting line at the same time to making sure that everyone crosses the finish line at the same time. In order to create an environment of equality, those who are smarter, more talented, and gifted must sacrifice their freedom in order to give it to others. This sacrifice in freedom comes in the form of higher taxes and higher government spending to disburse those funds towards the creation of equality.Then, there's the concept of financing the bureaucracy required to determine what's fair, what's not fair, and who gets how much money to create equality. Is it worth your tax dollars and the sacrifice of freedom to create 'equality?'
